Youth Club set to see the bright lights in the New Year/
Brighter days for youth club with ongoing Foundation support

The Leus Family Foundation is honoured to continue supporting the wonderful Bright Lights Youth Club in Runnymede- a centre for children aged 5-13 with a range of special needs.

This latest grant has provided the club with a variety of selective toys and equipment, as well as providing funding for two memorable outings for both the children and staff who attend the club.

Dmitry Leus, Founder of the Leus Family Foundation, was concerned about the detrimental effects lockdown has had on younger children, especially those with additional needs, and felt strongly that the continuation of support to clubs such as Bright Lights was essential for the health and wellness of young people.

Dmitry comments: “We are so pleased to continue to support the Youth club.  It is especially meaningful for us to be able to provide the two outings, knowing how much pleasure the children will get from these outings.  The children have missed out on making memories and unique experiences due to restrictions and it’s time for them to shine again.”

This latest support offering from the Foundation provides the children with a huge variety of sensory play, learning and equipment that they may not have access to elsewhere including; fibre optic light equipment, bean-less bag chairs, gym and music mats, suitable books as well as some of the latest computing technology.

Excitingly and as part of this most recent funding by the Foundation, in January 2022 a private trip for the children to a local trampoline park where they will have exclusive, and safe use of the venue has been organised along with club attendees and staff enjoying a trip to Drayton Manor Theme Park in the Spring.

Lucy O’Neill, the chair of Bright Lights, spoke of the importance of the support provided by The Leus Family Foundation: “Bright Lights is extremely grateful for all the support we are receiving from the Leus Family Foundation. The children have benefited immensely from the equipment donated to the club. The equipment has helped to increase their engagement and interaction, as well as giving them much more variety in terms of activities to partake in and tools to play with and use. The trips will also give the children the opportunity to access activities in a supported and safe environment which they may have been limited from enjoying before. Their experience will also be enhanced by their families being able to attend meaning they can enjoy the trips knowing it’s a memorable experience for the family as a whole.”

What they say

We are incredibly grateful for Dmitry’s and The Leus Family Foundation’s continued support of St George’s Hospital Charity and our Children’s Appeal.
Gardens and outdoor spaces are important for the recovery of all patients, especially children, and our hope is to make the newly designed Serenity garden a fun, engaging and accessible space for children and their loved ones.
