Britain on point for future fencing Olympians
The Leus Family Foundation is delighted to be supporting the National Governing Board (NGB) of British Fencing, a sport that is close to Founder Dmitry Leus’ heart.
A former European fencing champion, Dmitry has long desired to give back to the sport that gave him so much. “Our Foundations’ passion to help and highlight the sport goes hand in hand with the aims of the NGB of British Fencing. We want to showcase it and encourage young people to try it across the country” he says.
The donations and support to British Fencing from The Leus Family Foundation will go towards the purchase of Olympic standard equipment, provide individual sponsorships for those at championship and potential Olympic level and maintain a high standard of young fencers to keep moving through the ranks both nationally and internationally.
Dmitry comments: “Sport can play a transformative role in a person’s life as it did mine. It is not only about excelling at the sport itself but there are also tremendous life skills to be gained from dedicated training and the experience of competition. We are delighted to play a role in supporting British Fencing.”.
With physical and mental health playing a hugely important role in our lives, especially currently, the Foundation hopes that its continued support and dedication to the sport will help raise awareness and encourage more young people to look to it as a fun and sociable way to exercise and train.
Dmitry continues: “It is inspiring to see the competitors’ passion for sports and the desire for victory. We look forward to seeing the next British Olympic Champion in 2021!”
