Striving for Excellence – the future shines bright for MPW students

As a Foundation that believes strongly in the education of children and young people, The Leus Family Foundation is thrilled to have made a charitable donation to the Mander Portman Woodward college in London (MPW).

MPW is an educational institution close to the family’s heart as Dmitry Leus’ eldest son studied there. “The college is committed to providing a top-class education, working alongside families to create a strong work ethic and my own son benefitted greatly from this approach” Dmitry says.

Established in 1973 in South Kensington, London, MPW now has three colleges strategically located in London, Birmingham, and Cambridge with close proximity to prestigious university campuses. The commitment made by MPW to help students turn their academic dreams into reality was a mission statement that resonated with The Leus Family both personally and charitably.

A college that is dedicated to providing bespoke and personalised learning plans tailored to each individual student, it is a college that prides itself on both the education but also the social responsibilities and social awareness that young people need in order to build confidence and independence.

Leus says “I believe strongly in children being able to learn in a positive and comforting environment. I believe MPW provides children and young people with the support they need to truly fulfil their potential.”
The Leus Family Foundation’s generous donation is to be used three ways:
1. The creation of the ‘Leus Scholarship’ – these will be a handful of small scholarships offered to worthy Russian students who wish to extend their learning in the UK
2. ‘The Leus Prize’ – this is a prize to be awarded annually to the Best International Student (for example)
3. The 2020 Alumni Event – an event created to celebrate MPWs 50th birthday

Both the college and The Leus Family Foundation hope that these incentives will help to guide and encourage the students at this prestigious London college.

What they say

We are incredibly grateful for Dmitry’s and The Leus Family Foundation’s continued support of St George’s Hospital Charity and our Children’s Appeal.
Gardens and outdoor spaces are important for the recovery of all patients, especially children, and our hope is to make the newly designed Serenity garden a fun, engaging and accessible space for children and their loved ones.
