Coming together to cope with COVID-19

-The Leus Family Foundation and Runnymede Council teams up-

During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Dmitry Leus of the Leus Family Foundation, made supporting his local community a priority. The Foundation teamed up with Runnymede Borough Council in order to help local residents and NHS staff during this turbulent time.
The Leus Family Foundation made a generous donation to the local mayor’s charity fund which was used to provide support for Runnymede Foodbank. Helping the most vulnerable during the pandemic the Foundation purchased over 20,000 items of food, all of which were distributed to over 1,200 residents across the borough.

Dmitry says, “It’s a great honour to be able to support our local community and to provide essential food and equipment to those who need it most.”
There are over 2000 food banks in the UK now and March 2020 saw a rise of 18% of people using them in their localities.*
As well as the generous donation to the Runnymede Food Bank, The Leus Family Foundation also provided much needed PPE to local hospitals and health centres when supplies were nearly impossible to get a hold of. They were also able to purchase many packs of sanitising wipes for use in the local St Peter’s Hospital also.
Dmitry also assisted local residents in their bid to supply doctors and nurses working for our NHS with scrubs through the purchase of essential materials, again when supplies nationally were running low. He was delighted to help a group of local volunteers who were making pyjama style scrubs for under the NHS staff’s PPE equipment.
The Leus Family Foundation was able to mobilise quickly to lend their aid at such a worrying time and continues to support any efforts made by Runnymede Council going forward, especially in the run up to Christmas when many families are struggling.

What they say

We are incredibly grateful for Dmitry’s and The Leus Family Foundation’s continued support of St George’s Hospital Charity and our Children’s Appeal.
Gardens and outdoor spaces are important for the recovery of all patients, especially children, and our hope is to make the newly designed Serenity garden a fun, engaging and accessible space for children and their loved ones.
