Making a Valuable Difference

Leus Family Foundation supports the Royal Free

The Leus Family Foundation are thrilled to be able to have made a large donation to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in response to their emergency COVID-19 appeal. The Royal Free Charity launched the fund earlier this year in order to support staff and care workers at their hospital who have been facing the biggest challenge of their lifetimes.
From the provision of care packages at the end of a very long shift, to psychological support and the creation of physical respite spaces for our staff, the Foundation’s donation will directly help to meet the needs of our local NHS heroes.
Dmitry Leus says: “Our NHS medical staff are having their lives put in jeopardy because of this awful pandemic. I am grateful that our Foundation is able to donate so that doctors can continue to fight for me, for my family, and for all of us.”
The Leus Family Foundation has donated generously to hospitals in the south of England which will provide the necessary support to protect nurses, doctors and other health care workers fighting the virus on the front line. As well as being used to help these essential health staff the donation made by the Leus Family Foundation will also be used to purchase much needed medical equipment such as ventilators, PPE, testing kits and critical care support.
The vision of the Royal Free Charity is for every patient to get the best experience they can. The charity’s history is one worth noting. In 1828 a young surgeon, William Marsden, found a girl dying on the steps of a church and couldn’t get a hospital to admit her. Shocked, he gathered around him a group of philanthropists and founded what became the Royal Free Hospital, now one of three hospitals in the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Now, as then, charitable donations and legacies are a lynchpin of support and are managed by the Royal Free Charity to support all areas of the trust’s work.

What they say

We are incredibly grateful for Dmitry’s and The Leus Family Foundation’s continued support of St George’s Hospital Charity and our Children’s Appeal.
Gardens and outdoor spaces are important for the recovery of all patients, especially children, and our hope is to make the newly designed Serenity garden a fun, engaging and accessible space for children and their loved ones.
